Updates for Week of December 9, 2019
Information for Teachers and Staff
A friendly ask from our adult supervisors: please make sure you're picking up students from lunch on time to avoid added crowding in the cafeteria. Also, please remind student table wipers to do a thorough job.
Ms. Christina Asencios has graciously accepted the sub teaching position for Ms. Eveland’s class for the remainder of this semester. THANK YOU, Christina!
As a result, we will attempt to provide coverage for her coding classes this week; however since there are no PLCs this week, it may be likely that teachers will have their own classes during these blocks. Please make arrangements for your class to have independent work activities to do if you are doing assessments during that block of time. If support is available, we will send them to assist. We also ask that you have back up independent activities planned for resource blocks this week since Coach Cain may be out Tuesday; Ms. Barber and Kumu will be out on Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and will do our best to support you during this busy week.
Thanks for sharing during your IPDP! Here some examples of what your colleagues are working on! HĀ Orientation Follow Up: Mahalo to the staff for engaging so thoughtfully in our HĀ session. Lahi and Karen sent us this folder of materials (including slides, summary, and resources) to use and reference. Also, please let Leslie know if you would want to participate in a ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) course on campus. Leeward Community College said it would be possible next fall!
Have a great week!

We are very proud of you and how well you represent our vision and mission for Ho‘okele Elementary!
SAFETY REMINDER:
We have noticed many students running around the Piko common area in the mornings instead of walking to your designated area to wait for the bell to ring. Please find your space in the morning and wait quietly and safely for your teacher to invite you into the classrooms. Students should never be running around for any reason. We also ask that you walk AROUND the green grassy piko area and NOT THROUGH the middle. This will allow us to keep this area green and healthy as the center of our school.
SUPPORT THE DANCE TEAM THIS FRIDAY AT ILIMA INTERMEDIATE 6:30 pm! Be There! Good Luck team!
