Information for Faculty and Staff
It’s never too late to say THANK YOU!  We would like to extend our appreciation for our Administrative Professionals (Office Staff) for all of their hard work and dedication to Ho‘okele!  You are all amazing and help us run smoothly every day!

Thank you to our Track Coaches, Mr. Yamamoto and Ms. Pechfelder for preparing our students for last week’s track meet!  Our team medalled in MANY events and did a great job representing Ho‘okele. We appreciate the grade 5 teachers and students for your support as awesome fans in the hot sun!

Thank you to Liane Tanigawa for our STEM science night last week Friday!  It was a great turn out and a lot of fun for everyone involved. Thank you to the teachers who helped with set up, facilitation, supporting kids and cleaning up after the event (hope I don’t miss anyone!!):  Joanne Barilla, Janae Kremer, Crystal Barrett, Laura Brown, Jill Higa, Tiari Silva, Sarah Kim, Janelle Cuajunco, Regina Yamamoto, Kristen Maehara, Decy Belmonte, Joy Arakaki-Tsutsui, Maria Hernandez-Cruz, Deborah Eveland, Tami Pechfelder, Crystal Alejandro, Michelle Kirkpatrick, Chris Robertson, Coast Guard volunteers, Bows Engineering, CPB and the RoboRayz!

Great job Math Coaches (Ms. Pechfelder, Mr. Depolis and Ms. Kim) and Team for your performance on Saturday! The 5th grade math team brought the Math Champions Trophy back to Ho‘okele on Saturday!

This year, the 27th Letter Carriers' Annual Food Drive is on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
Flyers have been placed in your boxes for distribution to ALL STUDENTS on MONDAY, APRIL 29, 2019 .
Extra flyers have been placed on the counter in the office where the Certificated Staff Sign-In Binder is located.  Please help yourselves, as needed.

Information for Students
Grade 4 and 5 Students:  
Thank you to the students who have taken on the Kindness Bucket Filling Challenge.  As a reminder, your bucket fillers should include a meaningful comment such as:
*I liked it when you….
*I admire you for….
*Your actions helped me when…
*I’m glad you are….
*I want to share my appreciation for you because…
We will be continuing this challenge for 2 more weeks before the drawing for a class pizza party!  You can acknowledge teachers, staff, students, siblings, etc…Here are the top 3 classes after week 1:
Ms. Alejandro, Ms. Castro and Ms. Carlos!  
Keep filling those buckets!  Didn’t get one? Didn’t write one?  It’s not too late-get started on filling others’ and your own buckets by being kind!  Teachers have been providing bucket fillers to students as they go into lunch to help encourage them to write.  The cafeteria staff also has bucket fillers that students can request. Keep it going!

SBA is HERE for our grades 3-5 students!  This is a very important time of year for us to assess how much you have grown academically over the school year. Take all assessments seriously and show us how smart you are! Get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast to be ready for your assessments!

Congratulations Math Team Winners-Our first place team of Juliet, Alyssa, Merii and Nyah and top individual mathlete Juliet helped Ho‘okele win the trophy for our school!! Great job to our entire math team and coaches!

Thanks to the RoboRayz (Tony, Alexine, eMoni, Priya, Alexander, Trenton and Addy) for your help at Fridays Family Engineering Night!  It was great seeing so many of you involved and enjoying learning STEM!

It’s awesome to hear about all of your successes!  We hope to hear more as we move into the last month of school!

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
