I have emailed some important information in the past week for your Opening of School Year Packet information (Certificated/Teachers and Classified Staff) and a powerpoint to help teachers prepare for the opening of school. HGLs, please check with new teachers on your grade levels to make sure they have been receiving the information sent by email. This lunch order form for next week was also sent to teachers. If you’d like to order lunch, please do so ASAP so I do not miss your order! Subway for Monday will be ordered Sunday evening, about 6 pm.
You will be inundated over the next week in going through emails and trainings and powerpoints, etc...so I will keep this short!
I do want to share a little bit about “Applying Mirth in Education”. Mirth is defined as amusement or laughter. I have been reading “A Mirthful Spirit: Embracing Laughter for Wellness” by Mary Huntley and Edna Thayer and I plan to share a few things from the book periodically.
The classroom setting benefits greatly from a mirthful atmosphere. The authors use the acronym EDUCATE to describe the major benefits:
E: Enhances short-term memory
D: Diffuses tension
U: Unleashes creativity
C: Cuts absenteeism
A: Accelerates alertness and attracts attention
T: Triggers motivation for learning
E: Enriches Learning Environment
So….remember to have
It’s good for you and good for your students!!
Have a great weekend and see you next week!
