Updates for Week of October 3, 2016

Information for Teachers
This Sunday will be our first day of RISE Church renting our facility from 6:30-11:30 am.  Their service is at 9, so you may want to avoid coming around that time since they will be using parking lots.  They will be on campus every Sunday using the cafeteria and staff dining room.
There is no RTI this week.  There are no PLCs.  BUT, We will have resource teachers and classes next week.  Teachers should follow/stay with your classes but may do assessments during that time.
Please send all bus riders (general ed bus) to cafeteria at 1:45 pm on Monday with their bags for an important meeting on behavior expectations.  Thank you!
CARES assembly is this Wednesday!  Students will be sent to classes earlier after breakfast at about 7:40 to allow us time to clean the cafeteria.  Please send honorees to cafeteria for picture taking at 8:00 am.  You may start bringing your classes down to the cafeteria at about 8:20 am.  We will use the same assembly seating for the CARES assembly, however, please keep a larger center aisle for honorees to walk down when their names are called.  Students who are getting awards should be seated by the center aisle.  Performers may enter and exit through center aisle as well. Any updates or revisions will be emailed to you.
We have had a busy and productive first quarter.  We truly appreciate all you do and know there is always so much on everyone’s plates.  For those who get to enjoy fall break-take advantage of the time to renew and refresh!  For those who keep everything running over break-we appreciate you being here and hope it will be a quiet and calm week for you all as well.
A Bright Spot to Note:  EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU truly contributes to our amazing team of teachers and staff.  We would not be who we are without all of you.  MAHALO!

We will be sending out instructions via email for those wanting to come to work over the break in regards to AC and alarms.  I will update the bulletin with that information once confirmed as well.

Information for Students
A meeting for ALL Bus riders will be held on Monday at 1:45 in the cafeteria. Bring your backpacks as you will be excused to the bus from the cafeteria.  This is an important meeting to discuss behavior expectations on the bus.
The fire drill last week went quickly, however we noticed more students talking and waving to friends as they went out to the field.  This is not play time-you should be very serious, quiet and walk with your hands by your side.  You need to be able to hear the instructions as they are given.  Our next drill will be combined with a whole school evacuation to the high school at the end of October, so your attentive listening and cooperation is very important!
Our first CARES assembly is Wednesday!  Congratulations to our honorees for Quarter 1.  We are proud of you and look forward to sharing this award with your families at the assembly.  Please be on your best behavior for the assembly to show respect for those performing and those receiving awards.
Congratulations on a successful quarter 1!  We are excited by the growth of our campus and the addition of so many new students to our ohana.  We hope you have a great week so we can end the quarter positively enjoy a fun fall break week next week!  Look forward to new recess activities for quarter 2 and continued high expectations for you to be successful students!

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school.
