Updates for the Week of November 24, 2025

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, we will be having a Community Building Faculty Meeting in the Cafeteria.

As a preview, we will:

  • have snacks,

  • play a game, and

  • practice some mindfulness with Susan Shinkawa.

As part of our mindfulness, we will get our hands dirty, and we recommend bringing a plant of your choice. The plants we are looking for are small, with strong, sturdy roots that do well in harsh environments. Some examples of this include: ferns (bird's nest, rabbit's foot), pothos (devil's lily), peace lily, spider plant, anthurium, succulents, and snake plant. We will have some extras from our school garden, but we recommend you bring one that sparks joy.

If you don't need a plant (because you're bringing your own or planning on being absent), please let me know so we have enough on hand.

As we head into Thanksgiving this week, Gemini helped us create a better expression of our Gratitude for all of you, our incredible staff in a much more artful and beautiful way… (Thanks Gemini, AI friend…)

🌟 The Ripple of Gratitude: A Ho'okele Heart 🌟

In every challenge, a lesson takes flight, Guided by hands that are steady and bright. To our wonderful staff, with hearts strong and true, We celebrate all the amazing things you do.

Each day, a new sunrise, a path to explore, Our students face mountains, and so much more. But with you by their side, they're never astray, You light up the learning, guiding their way.

You help them to Navigate waters unknown, Planting the seeds where success can be sown. Through tricky equations or stories untold, You empower young minds, making them bold.

With Caring profound, in each gesture and word, A comforting presence, profoundly heard. You build up their confidence, ease every fear, Making pathways clearer, year after year.

Your Inspiring spirit, a luminous spark, Illuminates futures, dispelling the dark. You show them their strengths, help their potential to bloom, Transforming each classroom, dispelling all gloom.

Through your gentle guidance, they learn to Succeed, Planting the moments of every good deed. Each "aha!" moment, a victory won, A future made brighter, before it's outrun.

So let us embrace this deep gratitude's art, And share this warm feeling, from heart unto heart. For the Ho'okele spirit, in all that you give, Is how our bright students truly can live.

Thank you for leading, for wisdom you share, For teaching our children to grow and to care. You are the reason, the strength, and the guide, With immense appreciation, standing with pride.

We are Grateful for YOU!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your Family and Friends!

Coming Soon…

December Birthdays!

Don’t see your birthday?  Did you fill out this form?  This is the Personnel Data form that helps us keep information that only the office and admin use for emergencies (and to acknowledge birthdays).  If you do not wish us to acknowledge your birthday, please let us know and we will not share, however we do ask that all staff members complete the form so we can have your emergency contacts and vehicle information.

Thank you!
