Updates for the Week of November 17, 2025

From our Librarian, Mrs. Ramey:

We are half-way through our Scholastic Book Fair and the excitement and book joy from our students and families has been incredible to see. Thank you to all staff who have volunteered and supported our Fair in every way possible. I appreciate each of you and the Fair doesn't go without you!

We received a generous contribution to the Scholastic Share the Fair program. This program provides funds that will bring book joy to students who may not otherwise be able to leave the Fair with a book in their hands

I'll rely on you to identify students with the highest need to provide them an opportunity to choose a book from the Fair. Keep in mind whether they have siblings who might also benefit.

If you email me or stop by the library to let me know which students, I will discreetly ring up a book ($10 or less) for them at the register. Thanks so much for your help.

From Admin:  We would like to thank Angie for her hard work on the Book Fair and recognize the value of the Share the Fair donation and how it can help our students.  This event is truly outstanding and makes such a lasting impression on students.  We love that there is a way to reach students who may not otherwise be able to purchase items and encourage teachers to reach out.  Thank you Angie!

We will be conducting our Pre-fire inspection sometime next week. Once inspection is complete,  you will be notified of any findings that need to be corrected. If you have any questions please let Mike know.

Lunch reminders:  Based on our recent audit findings, please help by adhering to the following guidance.

If you are having students eat in your classroom or bring lunches out of the cafe, please send a sheet with a list of their names to the cafeteria.  This helps the office find students and provides the accountability needed for the cafeteria.

Also, please remember that all adults eating lunch must have money in their accounts to purchase a lunch.

Please welcome 2 new EAs to our Ho‘okele staff.  A familiar face in K-2 FSC is Ms. Sharisse Kaiawe.  Sharisse has been subbing in the position since the start of school and has been officially hired.  Welcome Sharisse!

Ruth Bautista starts this week in grade 3 inclusion with Ms. Togami and Ms. Giuricich.  Ruth comes with  experience in OG and small group instruction working with EL and SPED students.  Welcome Ruth!

Don’t see your birthday?  Did you fill out this form?  This is the Personnel Data form that helps us keep information that only the office and admin use for emergencies (and to acknowledge birthdays).  If you do not wish us to acknowledge your birthday, please let us know and we will not share, however we do ask that all staff members complete the form so we can have your emergency contacts and vehicle information.

Thank you!
