Updates for Week of October 28, 2024

Our 3rd annual Trunk or Treat was a spooktacular success! Huge thanks to our incredible Trunkers, PTA, and staff for making this event possible. We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you to our amazing community for helping us create a safe, fun, and unforgettable Halloween! 🎃👻 Check out the pictures on our Instagram Post! Hoʻokele Fall Costume Parade The parade will occur on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 8 AM. We will conclude by 9 AM to account for Bike Ed and Resources. Please line up with your buddy class in the Piko area. We will exit through the gate between the E and D Buildings. We will walk out and around D building, to in front of the Cafe, up around A building, and enter between F and the Playcourt. The students will then walk into the Cafe and sit down while we wait for the rest of the classes. Once all students are in, our Halloween event will begin. It’s Conference Time!  As you prepare for conferences this week with your families, please remember to send out your report cards to the parent the day prior to your conference.   To help facilitate a smooth meeting, Gemini and I came up with some suggestions… -Be prepared with materials and the student’s information.  Being organized and ready to go is a great first impression for families. -Start on a positive note and create a welcoming atmosphere.  Be positive, and encouraging throughout the meeting. -Allow parents the opportunity to share thoughts and concerns and follow up in a timely manner. -Respect confidentiality of other students in the class. -Encourage parent involvement and collaboration to help create a team approach to supporting the student.  Conferences are a great time to learn more about the strengths and challenges your students have outside of school that can impact them in your classroom.
