Updates for Week of February 4, 2019
Information for Faculty and Staff
We would like to thank the faculty and staff for your support with last week’s incident and subsequent adjustments to help students feel safe. We will be continuously assessing the situation, working with DOE, HPD, and YMCA to be sure we make any necessary adjustments to address safety concerns. As we move forward, let us know if any students or even staff may need additional support.
Thank you for helping your students learn about art for our student showcase! We are excited to see the results. The cafeteria seating for the week is linked. Refer to mails from Regina Yamamoto (Jan. 18, 27 and 31) regarding scheduling this week for the set up, visitations and breakdown.
This is a very busy month! Enjoy the week one day at a time!

Information for Students
Thank you for your flexibility last week as our school navigated through a very serious situation. We appreciate your good behavior and adjusting to indoor recess. Remember that we are a big Ho‘okele family and it is important for everyone to do their part to take care of each other. Your safety is very important to us!
Moving forward, we will be making some modifications to recess for the week. We will not be having soccer or kickball out on the field and we ask that students stay inside the taped off areas on the field. We will continue to monitor and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
We cannot wait to see your student showcase projects this week! All of you worked very hard to produce quality products, so please remember to admire artwork but not touch the art pieces on display. Be proud of your work and share your “likes’ using the Happy Grams! Cafeteria seating will be adjusted this week.
