Information for Faculty and Staff

A late farewell to Derrick Alipio who will be leaving us for a new job at Waikele! Thank you Derrick for your service in our cafe and on campus. We will miss you!

Mahalo to Tsulan Husted for subbing in our vacant grade 1 classroom.  We appreciate you taking this class to help us out in starting the year and getting the students off to a great start!

Starting Tuesday, Ms. Karla Ferrando will be our new grade 1 teacher in E101! Please welcome her to the faculty! She comes to us from Napa, California.

 Also starting Tuesday is our new EA for grade 5, Ms. Gmei Eugenio! Welcome Gmei!

As a reminder, Wednesday’s faculty meeting is extended until 4 pm to make up for time lost on 8/22.  We will be going over Brace Map, meeting in our Tribes groups and WASC groups. Also next week Tuesday, we will be meeting from 2:30-3:30 for Flow map for an extended hour. Wednesday 9/12 is home group meetings.

Hope you enjoyed the long Labor Day weekend!  Congratulations!! We’ve survived 1 month of school!

Information for Students
Gotcha being good!  Have you heard that your class is getting a gotcha??  If you did, it is a good thing! We are keeping track of good behavior through the gotcha tickets.  For the last 2 weeks, we have a lower and upper grade winner who is earning extra recess: For lower grades-Ms. Tamaru’s class has won again!  For upper grades, Ms. Alejandro’s class wins. Each of those classes will be scheduled for an extra 5 minutes of recess. (Teachers please let Mrs. Pamatigan know when!!) Great job! Keep up the great behavior!

Safety reminders:  No snack sharing! Please bring your own snacks for recess.  Some students have food allergies or diet restrictions and sharing of snacks could lead to someone becoming very ill. Do not ask others for their snacks, if you want to bring something, ask your parents.  We encourage healthy snacks!

Be mindful that when PE class is in session, do not stand by the fence and yell into the courts.  This distracts the students and the teacher from their instruction. Thank you!

Menu change:  Friday September 7th.  Pepperoni pizza will replace Asian chicken.

Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school.
