Updates for Week of April 25, 2016

Hi Teachers! On Tuesday, Jared will be teacher in charge from 11:30-end of the day. Please send students to the office only for appropriate office referrals. Thank you. This week at faculty forum we will be sharing thinking maps to complete your IPDP sharing.  The format will be the same as in the last sharing.  Please be prepared to share the other 2 thinking maps you have used with your students this year with a small group.  More information will be emailed to you.  Your reflections are due on Monday, May 2. Updates for Week of April 18, 2016

Hi Teachers! Ho‘okele Student Council is hosting a Canned Food Drive in conjunction with the Hawaii Department of Education's Employee Food Drive.  We are asking students, faculty, and staff to donate at least one canned food on April 19-26, 2016.  Student Council will supply boxes for canned goods to be stored in each classroom.  SC Officers will collect canned goods every other day and tally the amount that is donated from each class.  Classes that have 100% participation will received an ice pop for each student.   Faculty and staff may also make monetary donations.  Only checks payable to "Hawaii Foodbank" will be accepted.  Please turn in checks to Laura Brown. Grade 4 HSA Science is scheduled for Wednesday, 4/20 & Thursday 4/21 at 8:15- 10:00 a.m.  The make-up days will be Friday, 4/22 and Monday, 4/25 at 8:15-10:00 a.m.   Have a wonderful week! Updates for Week of April 11, 2016

Hi Teachers! Our Hawaiian Studies teacher for lower grades will begin this week!  Please welcome Damon Nakatani who will start on Tuesday!  Thank you to all of you who provided lessons or coverage for last week.  It is very much appreciated. Please bring your laptops to this week’s faculty meeting.  Bring your tripod results if you have them. Thank you for bearing with us as we work on the AC problems.  Hopefully all will be running normally this week.  Also do not forget to call the alarm company if you set off an alarm.  It is important to do this immediately as they initiate their contact protocol as soon as the alarm goes off.  Even if you turn it off with your code, you still need to call right away! Updates for Week of April 4, 2016

Hi Teachers! We will be doing walkthroughs this Monday and are looking forward to visiting your classrooms! The after school RTI and Hula classes begin this week.  Students will receive stickers to remind them.  Thank you for distributing them.  Most students should know where to go after school, however please assist any students if they need help.  We will not be having staff pick them up, however your grade level may designate someone to assist in sending the whole group together. The programs will run for 5 weeks only this session. HGLs-please turn in your reservation requests for HTY to me by April 13.  They will be submitted together as a school. On a trial basis, I would like to let students start taking the lead in kickball at recess.  If you are in the hills area, please monitor the game.  If students have any conflicts or unsafe play, the game can be called off by the adult.  We will see how it goes-your feedback is appr...
