Updates for Week of December 14, 2015

Congratulations on our first semester!   We are changing our Wednesday and Thursday schedules this week.  This includes your yard duty responsibilities-so if you have yard duty on Wednesday, you will have it on Thursday and vice versa.  Also, if you are scheduled for Friday yard duty, please report on Wednesday to help cover for the PTTs who will not be working this week. There will therefore be lunch recess on Wednesday and no lunch recess on Thursday. Please be sure to pick up your students from the cafeteria on Thursday after lunch for this week! Yard Duty for 12/14-12/17 We will have modified yard duty upon our return (as we will not have PTTs on campus/No PLCs).   Yard Duty for January 6-8.  I shifted some of the Monday and Tuesday people to cover Thursday and Friday PTT slots. With just 2 more weeks before break, we know you must be getting excited! Thank you for taking all of the extra precautions to help keep our campus safe.  As a reminder, if you are on campus and accidently set off the alarms, please call the number for APN and give the your code.  If we do get alarm calls, we will be sending the police to check on the campus as a precaution. Welcome back-we hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Please welcome our CAS, Heidi Armstrong and her team on Monday.  We look forward to bringing her by your rooms! This Wednesday is our artifact sharing for semester 1 for your IPDPs.  Please be prepared to bring samples of 2 of the thinking maps you have used.  Bring student samples of each one you are sharing.  Also be prepared to share out in a small group how you used the map and how students have used the map.  You will have about 3-5 minutes to share out both samples.  You will also be asked to give feedback for members who have shared in your group. It’s Thanksgiving Week!   We will be conducting walkthroughs on Monday 11/23.  Please see Laureen’s email which includes the form we will be using.  We are very excited to visit your classrooms.  Please let your students know that classrooms will be visited from time to time and that they should just carry on with their learning.   Monday’s lockdown has been moved to 1:15 pm!  We will conduct this drill, rain or shine.  Our fire and evacuation drills for Wednesday will be held weather permitting.  If it is raining or the path is excessively wet/muddy, we will postpone to a later date. Updates for Week of November 16, 2015

Hi Everyone, Monday is our IPA assembly/performances.  Please remind your students of how well behaved they were at the dedication ceremony and encourage them to be even better for this assembly! Thank you for your help in getting notices out to families for the clubs.  First day for Hula and RTI programs will be Thursday 11/19.  You will be receiving information regarding after school pick up of students this week. Please remember to go on yard duty at your newly assigned days and times.  We realize some adjustments need to be made and are working on some changes that will help with some of the overlap of responsibilities. Flu shot clinic is on Tuesday-details will be sent to you on Monday. Please help prepare your students for our safety drills next week. Updates for Week of November 9, 2015

Hi Everyone, Congratulations on a job excellently done for our Dedication Ceremony.  These events take a lot of planning, time and energy-but the result was amazing!  We have an amazing school with amazing people-Be proud! Our new yard duty schedule will begin on Monday!  Please review with your students and for yourselves the expectations that were covered at last week’s faculty meeting. PLEASE also remember to wait by the gates of the field area between D and E buildings for students to come out from the cafeteria. The adult supervisors have been informed to look for the teachers and start sending out students. Also, as required by fire code, ALL gates to Laulima court must be in the OPEN position when students are occupying that area. The EA-Run Copy Centers will begin operation on Monday.  The blue slips for copies are in Buildings F and E and library.  The lavender lamination slips are all in the library workroom.
