Happy New Year and Welcome Back!  

We hope you all had a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy a well-deserved break.

As we settle into this first week back, we hope to channel some of that refreshed energy into the new semester.  We also want to acknowledge that while many of us feel refreshed, coming back to school and work can look different for everyone. Whether your break was full of adventure, quiet rest, or perhaps some challenges, please know that your presence here is valued. We are here to support each other as we navigate this new year.

Let’s bring lots of positive momentum into Ho‘okele this week. Here’s to an exciting, productive, and joyful 2026!

VP Paranada will be cross training at Honouliuli Middle School from January 12-30.  Grade 1 will be covered by VP Pamatigan and Grade 4 will be covered by VP Umeno during this time.

With many new students coming in as well as the start of a new semester, we highly suggest a revisit to your classroom expectations and taking some time during your morning meetings to establish and reestablish your classroom relationships.  This will help you to reset the rules and routines for safety and help to set a predictable and safe culture for learning for your students moving forward into the new year.  Reach out to your VP or counselor if you would like some suggestions or support.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
